The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 has a strap problem

With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Samsung actually introduced a new hardware feature in the form of straps that can be easily removed by pressing a button. The idea is that compared to lugs, these will make swapping the straps easier, and also easier to remove if you want to give it a good wipe down after a sweaty gym session.

Unfortunately, it looks like this new feature is more trouble than it’s worth. According to a post on Reddit, some users are complaining that the straps are falling off, which in turn causes their watch to fall off their wrists.

Now, it doesn’t appear to be a hardware defect. It has been speculated that because of the way some users wear their watches, like higher up on their wrists, the watch might be too close to their wrist bone which could accidentally trigger the button, causing the strap and watch to fall off.

Not all users are facing this issue so it is unlikely we’ll be seeing a recall. So, if you are thinking of getting the Galaxy Watch 6, you might want to consider changing where you wear it on your wrist if you want to avoid these types of issues. Samsung has yet to issue any kind of statement about this, so we’ll have to wait and see if they do.
