The Sony Xperia 5 V is Now Official

0

It’s finally here – Sony recently announced its newest addition to its Xperia V series phones, the Xperia 5 V. Priced just a bracket below the Xperia 1 V, the new device comes with some much-welcome upgrades, in addition to some interesting changes. The handset was officially revealed via Sony’s YouTube account.

Up front, the phone retains a 6.1-inch 120Hz OLED panel, which comes with an FHD+ resolution. Inside, the phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset – the same mobile processor found in its much more premium sibling – which is aided by 8GB of RAM as well as 128GB of expandable storage. For audio, the phone comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual speakers on both sides of the display.

While the Xperia 5 IV featured a triple-camera setup on the rear panel, the Xperia 5 V comes with a more conservative dual-lens array, consisting of a 52MP main sensor, in addition to a 12MP ultrawide lens. The front of the phone houses the selfie camera, which features a 12MP sensor.

Powering this entire setup is a 5,000 mAh battery, which also comes with support for wireless charging. The Xperia 5 V will be available for $799 later in September.
