Wireless headphones are all the rage these days and it’s not hard to see why, especially when you’re outdoors and you don’t want your cables to snag on other stuff. If you’re looking for a new pair of headphones, then you might want to check out JBL’s latest offering, the Soundgear Sense.
The Soundgear Sense are a pair of air conduction earbuds. You might have heard of conduction-based headphones before, such as bone conduction where the vibrations from the soundwaves allow you to “hear”. With air conduction, it works by sending sound waves through the air which are then picked up by your ears, which is essentially how most people hear things.
The Soundgear Sense are open-ear in design, meaning that they do not enter your ear canal. This is beneficial in some ways because it creates a more “natural” sound while also allowing you to be aware of your surroundings, perfect for users who might do a lot of outdoor activity.
The earbuds themselves feature 16.2mm drivers along with a bass-enhancing algorithm. They also have an IP54 rating which makes them ideal for runs or when you’re at the gym. The earbuds also come with ear hooks that can rotate so that you can comfortably attach them to your ears.
There are also four built-in microphones and it supports up to 6 hours per charge, with a total of 24 hours when used with the charging case. It also supports fast charging where 15 minutes will help you squeeze out an extra 4 hours of music listening. As for pricing and availability, the JBL Soundgear Sense will be available for purchase today where it is priced at €149.99.
