JBL’s foothold in the audio product landscape is no less than impressive, to say the least – the company’s wide range of quality audio gear has placed it amongst the top players in the industry, and it looks to continue this streak with its latest launch.
More specifically, JBL launched its new Authentics series speakers, which consists of three connected speakers that come with a lot of the same functionality that you’d see in competing products like ones from Sonos, for example. The speakers come with a ton of features, including multi-room audio, Wifi connectivity, as well as Bluetooth and Ethernet support.
Interestingly enough, the speakers can also run both Google Assistant and Alexa as well. Users can set up both assistants and use voice commands, as well as whatever features are normally available with either one. They’re also compatible with the JBL One app, for in-depth EQ customization.
The most premium of the trio is the Authentics 500, the only one of the set that supports Dolby Atmos Audio. Priced at $700, the Authentics 500 delivers up to 270W of 3.1-channel sound and a virtualized 3D effect. Meanwhile, the Authentics 300 comes in a more portable form factor, and offers 360-degree audio and up to eight hours of playtime for $430. Last but not the least is the Authentics 200 that comes priced at $330, and offers a deep bass sound.
In terms of availability, the new JBL Authentics speakers will be available starting on September 17th.
