The Realme GT5 Packs an Impressive Set of Features

Realme recently took to stage to unveil what is probably one of the most impressive Android phones that we’ve seen in a long time, the Realme GT5. While it’s currently exclusive for buyers in China, the new handset packs a sharp list of hardware, that’s all the more attractive thanks to a relatively-affordable price point.

First up is the phone’s design, which comes with a sleek-looking layout thanks to a glass rear panel and metal frame that goes around the entirety of the GT5’s 6.74-inch AMOLED display. The screen features a 1,240 x 2,772 pixel resolution, in addition to 10-bit colour rendering, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also gets very bright with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

Interestingly enough, the Realme GT5 comes in two variants with different battery and storage configurations. There’s a variant that features 150W fast-charging speed, available in 12/256GB and 16/512GB storage configurations, although there’s a much faster 240W fast-charging variant, which features 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, and a 4600 mAh battery.

In terms of camera hardware, the handset comes with a triple-camera setup, with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, as well as a 2MP macro lens, while there’s a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. For software, the phone ships with Realme UI on top of Android 13.

As mentioned earlier, the phone isn’t available internationally at the moment – it’s priced at $410 when converted, and given the hardware onboard it’s certainly shaping up to be a great device for the money. Hopefully we get further word from Realme regarding a global launch sometime soon.
