ChromeOS M116 Beta Arrives with New Updates
If you’re using a ChromeOS-powered device, then you might want to check out the latest features that are included with the latest ChromeOS M116 Beta version. The new version carries several much-welcome updates, which ChromeOS users will no doubt find helpful.
First up, Autocorrection is now enabled by default for English in compatible apps, automatically fixing typos, spelling, and other errors, and also enhances the performance of the virtual keyboard’s Autocorrect and other Assistive features. The new update also comes with AI-powered features for PDF and web content, thanks to Optical Character Recognition (OCR), which will allow users to convert images to text – this feature will be available in Chrome browser in the coming months.
Additionally, a new setup and onboarding process has been integrated with the M116 Beta, which now includes a revamped flow giving users more device customization with regards to device setup. The new customization options enables users to modify their touchpad scroll direction and display size, and includes a more streamlined experience to help users (both old and new) get started much quicker.
Finally, users can now open and edit their Microsoft Office documents in a much easier manner on their Chromebook, as OneDrive will be added to the Chromebook Files app. With that said, Microsoft OneDrive storage will be needed to users can open and edit files in Microsoft 365.
