Recently, there have been rumors that claimed that ASUS will be ending its Zenfone lineup with the Zenfone 10 being the latest in the range. For those who might be fans of the company’s Zenfone smartphones, you’ll be pleased to learn that the rumors weren’t true after all.
For those who missed the previous report, the rumors claimed that ASUS would be killing off the Zenfone lineup and merging it with its ROG series of gaming phones. ASUS has issued a statement on its website where they are denying those claims. According to the company’s statement, it reads:
“We would like to address the rumor that ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the ASUS Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups.”
That being said, just to play devil’s advocate, there have been times when a company has denied rumors only for them to come true later on. LG is a good example, where the company initially denied the rumors of them exiting the smartphone market, only for it to happen anyway.
This isn’t to say ASUS’ statement is false, but usually when there’s smoke, there’s fire, but either way we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for any updates should they take place.
