The rumors are claiming that Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy S23 FE. It was recently spotted on a certification website, and now it appears to have been listed on Geekbench, clueing us in as to what we might be able to expect from the phone in terms of performance.
According to the listing and comparing it to the regular Galaxy S23, it looks like the FE version will be less powerful, at least on paper. The benchmarks show it trailing slightly behind the Galaxy S23 in both single and multi-core scores, but to be honest, the gap isn’t particularly wide.
This means that while it will be less powerful, it won’t be too underpowered. It is expected that the Galaxy S23 FE will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, so obviously it will be less powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which powers the Galaxy S23.
We imagine that this is done to help reduce the overall costs of the phone, allowing Samsung to price it lower to appeal to customers who don’t want to spend that kind of money on a phone. There’s still no word on when the handset will be announced, but with all these leaks and sightings, we imagine that it shouldn’t be too far off.
