Meet Qualcomm’s Newest Snapdragon “G” Series Gaming Chipsets

Qualcomm recently unveiled that it was offering fans and users something new in the way of portable gaming, thanks to a series of specially-designed chipsets, which the company says was developed with handheld gaming in mind. Known as the “Snapdragon G” series, the line currently features a trio of new chipsets.

These include the Snapdragon G1 Gen 1 Platform, which was made to be used with fan-less game streaming devices and packs an 8-core Qualcomm Kryo CPU, alongside an Adreno A11 GPU. There’s also the Snapdragon G2 Gen 1 that also supports mobile connectivity with 5G and Wi-Fi 6/6E support, in addition to an 8-core Kryo CPU, Adreno A21 GPU, and the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System.

Finally, Qualcomm also introduced the Snapdragon G3X Gen 2, which is the highest-end chipset in the series and packs a ton of features – inside you’ll find an 8-core Kryo CPU, which is aided by an Adreno A32 GPU for 30% faster CPU performance, suppport for hardware-accelerated ray tracing, XR glass tethering, Wi-Fi 7, as well as 5G sub-6 and mmWave connectivity.

Qualcomm adds that the Snapdragon G-series chips will soon be available on select products from AyaNeo, Huaqin, Inventec, and Thundercomm.
