Google Photos’ New Memories Feature Adds a Snazzy Look to your Galleries

Google’s constant addition of AI features to its software services has resulted in some pretty interesting developments over the years, both on the back and frontend of its many apps. As such, the company recently announced that it will be bringing over a new “Memories View” for the Google Photos app, which will be available starting today.

The Memories View function gives users a more “scrapbook-like” approach in how they can view their photos. It’s also powered by AI, which Google says is in charge of automatically curating and organizing the photos on view. As per Google’s official announcement:

Today, we’re introducing the new Memories view, a home for your memories that is automatically curated and organized with the help of AI. This scrapbook-like timeline lets you easily relive, customize and share your most memorable trips, celebrations and daily moments with your loved ones.

With that being said, users can choose to save specific memories to their Memories view, or create their own from scratch. The Memories view also lets them easily add or remove certain photos and videos, or even hide memories altogether. Other functions include a co-author function, AI-assisted memory titles, as well as customized title suggestions.

The feature will first be made available for users in the US, with more regions to follow in the coming months. Memories View can be accessed via the updated navigation menu at the bottom of the Photos app.
