The race to dominate the foldable Android market has only gotten fiercer in the past couple of years, with several manufacturers offering buyers the best in terms of foldable smartphone hardware. With that said, it looks like Tecno is currently developing a new and upcoming foldable device, after the release of the Tecno Phantom V Fold.
As such, it’s expected that Tecno’s next foldable will be designed to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series. Currently dubbed the “Phantom V Flip” (or ‘V Yoga’), the phone was leaked by Paras Guglani and tech site Newzonly, with a rather interesting take on design.
Based on the image renders, the phone is predicted to feature a form factor similar to the Z Flip and Moto Razr+. It also looks like the Phantom V Flip will pack a circular external display, a rare design element although not unheard of (Huawei’s P50 Pocket uses something similar). This circular panel will be surrounded by a camera module, consisting of a frame that houses the 64 and 13-megapixel lenses, as well as the LED flash.
Meanwhile, the main foldable screen consists of a 6.9-inch FHD+ display. The phone will be powere by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is expected to hit markets in October of this year.
