HTC Launches a New Budget Smartphone

0

While it could be said that HTC is still in the process of making a comeback of sorts in the global Android smartphone market, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has been steadily launching a handful of budget handsets in developing regions.

More recently, HTC announced its latest addition to its affordable smartphone lineup, the HTC Wildfire E Star. Based on the specs sheet, the phone is clearly aimed at users on the hunt for a wallet-friendly Android device. The phone was initially spotted on HTC’s African website, although there are currently no details regarding pricing and availability.

Shipping with Android 12 Go, the phone comes with a 6.5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM connectivity, a 3,000 mAh battery, USB-C connectivity, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. For cameras, the HTC Wildfire E Star features an 8MP main camera, joined by a rather basic 0.08MP secondary lens, with a 5MP selfie camera.

Based on the specs alone, the phone isn’t meant to impress hardcore Android enthusiasts, but we imagine that it would be ideal for connecting people who’d like a first-time smartphone on a limited budget.
