Looks like We’re Getting a Smartwatch from Nothing Soon

During the launch of the first-generation Nothing Phone (1) back in London, I got a chance to speak to CEO Carl Pei and ask if the company was planning to expand its operations towards products including tablets, smartwatches and more. In response to this, Carl simply smiled and stated that the company “has big plans” for the future.

With that in mind, it looks like Nothing is finally delivering on this statement very soon. An announcement from Pei in the latest Nothing Q2 Community update introduced “CMF by Nothing,” which covers a new range of products with a focus on premium hardware, affordability, as well as clean and timeless design.

While nothing (pun unintended) specific was revealed in the announcement, the company will be working on developing a smartwatch and new earbuds, which are scheduled to be launched sometime this year. This then expands Nothing’s existing product portfolio, which currently consists of two flagship smartphones, and several wireless earbuds. The announcement adds that more details about new products will be released in the coming months.

Nothing’s most recent hardware launch is the Nothing Phone (2), which comes with a significant performance upgrade compared to its predecessor, while retaining the signature look that incorporates the Glyph Interface.
