To differentiate between the different models in flagship phones, companies usually include features that might be exclusive to certain models to entice users to buy it. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S Ultra models, ever since the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung has used LTPO displays.
The good news is that it looks like Samsung is ready to bring the display tech to its other models. This is according to a report from Ice Universe who claims that for the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models that are launching in 2024, Samsung will finally introduce LTPO display panels to both phones.

For those wondering what the big deal is, LTPO display panels allow displays to have a greater degree of variance when it comes to refresh rates, meaning that it can go as low as 1Hz and up to 120Hz. Obviously a lower refresh rate means better battery savings, and it can be used when images on the display are static and a faster refresh rate isn’t required.
Exactly how much battery savings this will translate to remains to be seen, but every little bit helps. Prior to this, the base Galaxy S and S+ models only had two refresh rate options, but now with this LTPO panel rumor, we should see more variations.
