Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could sport a shiny, new titanium frame

The majority of phones that use metal in its construction typically employ the use of aluminum, or in some cases, stainless steel. Samsung might be going a different route with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, at least if the latest rumors are to be believed.

This is according to a tweet by tipster Ice Universe who claims that for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung could go with a titanium frame. The tipster tweeted out an image of the periodic table and mentioned element “22”, which is titanium.

When another user replied by asking if this meant that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could use a titanium frame, the tipster replied with a smiley face emoji, which we can only assume is confirmation.

The use of titanium is an interesting move because titanium is known to be lighter compared to other commonly-used metals, and is also more durable, meaning that we could be getting a phone that’s both lighter and stronger. The only problem is that titanium is more expensive than aluminum, which means that there is a chance the Galaxy S24 Ultra could see a price increase.

Also, another interesting thing about this rumor is that well-connected Apple insider, Mark Gurman, recently wrote in his Power On newsletter that Apple could also be using titanium for the iPhone 15.
