If you own a Samsung Galaxy Watch with Wear OS, then you’re in for a treat – Samsung recently announced that it will be bringing over new app support for its flagship wearable device. The company adds that more information will be unveiled during the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event, which is scheduled for July 26.

Among the new apps making their way to the Galaxy Watch platform are WhatsApp, the revamped Samsung Wallet App, as well as the Thermo Check app. Speaking of the latter, Thermo Check will work by using the Galaxy Watch’s built-in Infrared hardware for temperature measurements, and can be used by software developers.

Additionally, the new Thermo Check app allows users to easily measure the temperature of their surroundings, from meals they are about to eat to water they are about to swim in, all without any physical contact required. The app will be available first on the upcoming Galaxy Watch devices and later expanded to the Galaxy Watch5 series.

In addition to its wearables, Samsung also plans to launch its new and upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 during the Unpacked event – you can pre-order the devices using this link.
