Samsung has recently updated its official Samsung News app – previously known as “Samsung Daily” and “Samsung Free” – for regions outside the US, giving users access to an easily-accessible news aggregation software service. As such, this means that Samsung News will also replace the Samsung Free app from before.
There are some caveats however, as the app is currently only available in Canada via a beta version. Users outside the US and Canada can still sideload the app, however the featured news content won’t be localized to their respective region.
With the Samsung News app, users will have access to different content categories including Daily Briefings, which are picked by Samsung’s news editors and are featured in the morning and evening, News Feeds which lets users view feeds from Samsung News partners, as well as a Podcasts feature, which gives access to podcasts directly from the app.
In other Samsung-related news, the company plans to launch its new and upcoming foldable Android devices, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 next week. The new phones will be shown off at the Samsung Unpacked event, scheduled on July 26. You can pre-order the devices using this link.
