Google Pixel phones run into battery issues following June update

0

Remember back in the day when battery issues weren’t really an issue with feature phones? These days with smartphones, battery issues seem to be a huge problem, especially for Google Pixel owners who, according to a post on Reddit, seem to encounter massive battery drain following the June 2023 Feature Drop update.

According to users chiming in on the thread, it seems that after users updated their devices to the latest June update, they have experienced quite severe battery drain on their Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 devices, with some users claiming that they need to recharge their phones by the time afternoon rolls around.

This is kind of crazy because it means that users are barely getting half a day’s worth of battery before it starts running low. In addition to battery drain, users are also reporting that they are experiencing sudden signal drops on their phones quite frequently, and that the only fix right now would be to restart it at least once a day, which doesn’t seem very practical.

It is unclear how widespread this issue is but judging by the comments, it seems to be quite common. Google hasn’t responded to the issue yet but hopefully they are aware of it and that a fix is in the works.
