When the Pixel Tablet was officially revealed, the only official accessory for the device came in the form of a dock, but not too long after, it was tipped that Google could be working on more accessories for the devices, like a keyboard and stylus.
For those who felt that maybe something was missing from the Pixel Tablet, then you might be interested to learn that more evidence has been uncovered that suggests that a keyboard and stylus could indeed be in the works for the tablet.
This is according to developer Pratyush, who while looking through the Pixel’s factory images, found a URL that leads to the latest version of the Pixel’s Retail Demo app. Further digging revealed some additional strings that mention “Keyboard for Pixel Tablet” and “Pen for Pixel Tablet”, which are the keyboard and stylus accessories we had previously heard about back in May.
Google hasn’t officially announced anything yet so for all we know, it may never happen. We have to wonder why they did not announce these accessories during I/O as it would have been the perfect opportunity, but perhaps they weren’t ready yet. This could be good news for Pixel fans because having a keyboard and stylus means more productivity options for the tablet.
Either way, try not to get your hopes up too much just yet as we’ll have to wait and see if they get announced, maybe at Google’s next event which should be in the next few months when the Pixel 8 should be announced.
