Samsung Galaxy S23 gets massive camera improvements with latest update

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series has probably one of the best cameras on a phone out there right now, but as good as it may be, it can always be improved upon. The good news is that is what Samsung appears to be doing.

According to a report from SamMobile, it looks like Samsung has started to roll out an update for their Galaxy S23 series in which some of the changes that they will be bringing will be to the cameras on the phone that should see an overall improvement in the experience.

This includes how the camera’s Portrait mode now supports 2x zoom, which is actually quite useful because sometimes shooting portrait photos with a telephoto lens can help compress the overall image to give a unique effect that you might not get from a wider-angle lens. The update will also fix the camera’s autofocus issue, and they also changed up the Night mode’s processing.

Other changes made to the phone as part of the update also include smoother animations and transitions in the One UI interface, and also subtle improvements made to haptic feedback. The update weighs in around 2.2GB and has started rolling out in Southeast Asia, but we expect that it should eventually make its way to other regions.
