A lot of the high-end smartphones you see in the market today sport great specs, amazing design, and expensive choice of materials, which is why many of them also cost a small fortune.

Now, if you just want a phone that can get the job done, nothing more, nothing less, then you might want to keep an eye out for Redmi’s latest smartphone, the Redmi 12. This is the successor to the company’s Redmi 11 which launched back in 2022, which means that it is a very budget-friendly device.

In terms of specs, don’t expect too much. It features a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and under the hood, a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset can be found. It will also be accompanied by a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 50MP main that is accompanied by an 8MP camera and a 2MP camera, and an 8MP front-facing shooter. It will also pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging.

As for its price, it is priced at around $149. At the moment it has launched only in Thailand, but it is mentioned that it is a global launch which means we should see it hit other markets soon enough at roughly similar prices, so if you’re in the market for a cheap phone, then the Redmi 12 could be it.
