The Pixel Watch Gets SpO2 Monitoring, and an Expensive New Accessory

Pixel Watch users, rejoice – Google has recently announced new updates for its flagship wearable, bringing over some snazzy new features designed to allow you to use your device in more ways. Let’s check them out!

SpO2 and Heart Rate Monitoring

Pixel Watch users can now check their oxygen saturation (SpO2), and identify changes in the level of oxygen during sleep. They can also track their SpO2 trends over time to spot any changes associated with activity, altitude, and overall wellness.

Adding to its already-available heart rate tracking feature, the Pixel Watch can now send users a notification if their heart rate is unusually high or low, giving them an indicator of their overall health and a lookout for any potential issues on the horizon.

Language Support, Media and Workout Tracking

Users can now get Google Assistant in additional languages and regions, so which include support for Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish and Spanish. There’s also added support for Spotify DJ sessions, and users can now listen to podcasts and check out what’s in their heavy rotation with three new tiles.

The Pixel Watch can now automatically pause run, walk or bike sessions should a user need to stop at a light or take a quick break, in addition to automatically resuming their workout once it detects a continuation in movement.

New Accessories

Google also announced new Metal Links bands for Pixel Watch for a more “traditional” and classic watch look. Users can also easily add or remove links with a bundled tool. The new watch bands will be available from June 16 in Brushed Silver or Matte Black – it’s rather expensive though, coming in at $199.
