Earlier this month, Samsung announced the next major update for its smartwatches in the form of One UI Watch 5. The company also mentioned that they were aiming for a potential beta launch in the same month, but unfortunately that will no longer be happening.
In a post on the Samsung Community forums in Korea, Samsung’s beta operations manager has revealed that the release of the beta has been delayed. There is no mention of when the beta is expected to roll out, but for now owners of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 will have to wait.
It is unclear what is the reason behind the delay of the beta, but presumably it is due to the possibility that Samsung just wasn’t ready and that they are still working on it before they deem the beta to be ready for the public. That being said, we suppose it’s just as well. Betas are usually full of bugs and features that may or may not work correctly.
This means that unless you’re a hardcore Galaxy Watch fan and can’t wait for the full public release, chances are the delay of the beta probably won’t matter too much to you. Samsung hasn’t confirmed when the update is expected to be fully rolled out to the public, so we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for an official announcement.
