Screen sharing is coming to WhatsApp

0

Video calling platforms like Google Meet and Zoom are largely used by schools and businesses to conduct interviews, make presentations, and host virtual meetings. It is also why screen sharing is a feature offered by both platforms, allowing users to make their presentations and show what’s on their screen.

But when it comes to consumer-focused apps like WhatsApp, screen sharing isn’t quite as common, but that is expected to change soon. A report from WABetaInfo has revealed that in the latest beta for WhatsApp, it appears that the company could be bringing screen sharing to video calls.

At the moment there doesn’t appear to be anything too different from WhatsApp’s implementation of screen sharing compared to other video calling apps like the ones we mentioned above. We suppose this isn’t a bad thing since it is quite a basic feature and you don’t really need anything too fancy.

Presumably screen sharing will also be protected by the same end-to-end encryption tech used by the company when sending messages through its platform. This could be a good thing as it might encourage users and businesses to take advantage of its video calling feature and screen sharing, making it perfect for users who are constantly on the move and might need to make video calls using their phones.
