If you’re a fan of Konami’s “Metal Gear Solid” franchise, then now is the perfect time to rejoice – the veteran game developer and publisher recently announced that the series will be making its way back to modern gaming consoles, with what is possibly one of the biggest games in the franchise.
More specifically, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will soon be hitting consoles as “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.” A full remake of the original PlayStation 2 title, Snake Eater is expected to launch for the PS5, PC, and Xbox consoles in the future. No specific release date was given however, so we’ll have to wait a bit more for further announcements.
Since its initial launch many years ago, the game has been ported over to other platforms as part of a collection of games, and even onto handhelds like the Sony PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS. Created by veteran developer Hideo Kojima, Snake Eater is a stealth-action game that tells the story of Big Boss (aka Naked Snake), and is set in a very James Bond-esque escapade in the USSR.
Konami also announced that a collection titled “Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1″ will be released later this year, and will include the first three Metal Gear Solid games, as well as Metal Gear 1 and 2.
