TCL unveils new Q and S series TV lineup

TCL is known for many things, like its phones, but the company also produces televisions, which in general tend to run cheaper and more affordable compared to some of the other more established brands out there.

If you’re in the market for a new smart TV, then you might be interested to learn that TCL has announced a bunch of new TVs that will be part of the company’s 2023 lineup. This will include TVs that will be part of the company’s Q and S series of TVs, where the Q series will focus more on the use of QLED panels, while the S series will be the more affordable alternatives.

In the TCL Q-series of TVs for 2023, it will include the Q6 which will be the base entry-level model with a QLED panel and a “High Brightness” LED backlighting system. It will support major HDR formats such as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and AMD FreeSync. There’s also a new Game Accelerator mode that can boost the TV’s default 60Hz refresh rate to 120Hz, although this will come at the expense of the TV’s 4K resolution.

There will also be the Q7 model which is slightly higher end and boasts a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The display will also feature a native 120Hz refresh rate and with the Game Accelerator mode, can even bump it up to 240Hz. Last but not least is the QM8, which is the flagship model that features up to 2,300 dimming zones and peak brightness of 2,000 nits. There’s also a built-in subwoofer driver and support for WiFi 6.

For those who want something more affordable, you can check out the S3 and S4, the former of which has a 1080p resolution while the latter supports 4K. There is also support for Dolby Vision, auto low latency mode, and DTS Virtual: X.

If you’re keen on picking up any of these TVs, the Q6 will be priced starting at $499.99, the Q7 at $749.99, the QM8 at $1,699.99, while the S4 will be available starting at $279.99.
