New Update Arrives for Samsung Galaxy A53

0

While Samsung’s Galaxy A53 has now been succeeded by the newer Galaxy A54, the company has nevertheless remained consistent in rolling out updated software patches for its slightly older handset. As such, a new update has finally arrived for American variants of the phone, which features the latest May 2023 security patch.

The new update comes with software version number A536USQS5CWD4 for carrier models, and A536U1UES5CWE2 for unlocked variants. The new update brings some fixes for around 70 security issues for the Galaxy A53. Launched last year, the Samsung Galaxy A53 was one of Samsung’s many A-series handsets, which are meant to compete in the mid-range smartphone segment against phones like Google’s Pixel “A” smartphones. It came with a quad-camera set-up, a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, and a Samsung Exynos chipset.

The phone also launched with Android 12, and received an update to Android 13 with Samsung’s One UI 5.1 software update.

To check if your device can download the newest update, simply head into Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to check if your device is eligible for the latest system update.
