Here’s 5 Reasons Why you Should Get the Pixel 7a!

The arrival of the Pixel 7a for North American markets has once again shown that the US needs more competition in the mid-range Android space. While there are a ton of budget options from more familiar brands such as Samsung and Motorola, they don’t exactly convey the same feeling one gets when using a Pixel device.

As such, you might be thinking of grabbing the Pixel 7a as an upgrade, or maybe you’re interested in seeing what Google has to offer when it comes to Android hardware – whatever the case, we’ve put this list of reasons as to why the Pixel 7a might be worth getting for you. Let’s take a look!

Camera Quality

Google has given the 7a a boost in camera hardware, which includes a dual lens set-up that features a 64MP main camera, which outsizes the 50MP lens found on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, as well as any other Pixel A model before it – this allows for more details to be captured in photos, giving you a boost in image quality. Meanwhile, the ultra-wide and front cameras come with 13MP resolutions.

Additionally, a lot of the Google camera features such as Night Sight, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Real Tone are all packed in with the 7a, giving users a well-rounded mobile photography experience.

Clean, Unadulterated Android

Compared to other smartphone brands, Google’s Pixel phones run a “cleaner” Android interface – this means no additional third-party applications, and all the software and features you get are straight from Google. Since there’s no bloatware, the phone runs smoother as well, as the hardware won’t struggle to run duplicate or unnecessary proprietary apps in the background.

You also get up to three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for the device –  you can expect the Pixel 7a to be updated to Android 16, with security updates up until 2028.

AI-Centric Performance

It’s no secret that the Tensor G2 isn’t the most powerful smartphone processor out there – Google has instead focused on equipping the chipset to give users a smarter experience, with AI-backed software features that allow for better device customizability and smarter functionality.

The Pixel 7a adapts to how you use your smartphone instead of the other way around, with a ton of software tricks that make using Pixels a blast – smart voice-to-text transcription, spam call protection, and even modern translation features give the Tensor chip – and in turn the Pixel 7a – an advantage over rival phones.

Notable Upgrades

For users coming from the Pixel 6a or older Pixel models, the 7a does come with some nice upgrades including a faster 90Hz refresh rate, face unlock, better camera resolution (as mentioned earlier), and even wireless charging. It’s a lot of functionality that brings the 7a closer in terms of features to the Pixel 7, and vastly outperforms older A-series Google phones.

Price

Right now, you can grab the Pixel 7a for $499 for the standard model, and $549 for the mmW variant, with different colors including Charcoal, Sea, Snow, and Coral. Buyers can get it from participating retailers, Google’s own retail stores, and carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and more. This considerably low price is bound to get even lower with added trade-in deals and promos, depending of course on where you’re getting your phone from.
