The Samsung Galaxy S23 is one of the best Android phones of 2023 that you can buy right now. It features a beautiful design, top-of-the-line hardware, and a set of very impressive cameras for a smartphone.
But is it perfect? We wouldn’t go as far as saying that it is, but it does come close, and for those who feel that its cameras could do with an upgrade, you’re in luck. This is because Samsung has announced that in the next update for the Galaxy S23, they will be introducing 2x portrait zoom to the phone.
This means that users who want to take portrait photos with the Galaxy S23 close up will have the option of doing so. At the moment, users only have 1x and 3x zoom for portrait mode, which in some cases either means that users are too far or too close to their subjects. Having 2x zoom will give users a bit more flexibility.
For those wondering why this is a big deal, it is because sometimes there are situations where you might not be able to get as close to your subject as you like, and 3x zoom might be too close. Also, zooming into your photos helps to “flatten” the image by bringing the foreground and background closer together for a different look.
You may or may not use that feature, but at the very least it will soon be an option that will be there if the situation calls for it.
