While May 4 has been recognized as “Star Wars Day” in recent years (a pun on ‘may the force’), the annual celebration of the popular science fiction franchise goes beyond the limits of the films. shows and video games, and has even transcended even into tech.
To be more specific, Google teased a quick video on its social media pages, giving Pixel fans and Android users a quick little tease of its upcoming Pixel Fold. Bearing the tagline “May the Fold be with You,” the 8-second video shows off some snazzy-looking new angles of the yet-to-be-released Pixel device. No hardware specs or features were shared in the video though, so we’ll have to wait and see what Google has in store for fans.
That hasn’t stopped people from getting their hands on leaks, however – it’s expected that the device might come with Google’s Tensor G2 SoC, alongside 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of internal storage, and a 4,821 mAh battery. It also comes with a camera setup which incorporates the design seen on the mainline Pixel phones, in addition to external and internal selfie cameras.
There are rumors that it might be market-ready at a later date, but we’ll know for sure once Google I/O takes place on May 10. You can sign up for the Pixel Fold on Google’s official website.
