Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could borrow electric car technology for its batteries
We’ve always believed in the trickling down of technologies. It has happened many times over the years, and we don’t see why it should stop. In fact, Samsung’s 2024 flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, could actually be a pretty good example of that.
According to a report from The Elec, a publication based out of South Korea, they claim that for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung could be planning on using technology used to develop electric car batteries and apply that to the phone.
This is said to be the “stacking” method that Samsung SDI uses to develop li-ion batteries, where it tightly groups battery components together to create better energy density. This means that in theory, Samsung could create batteries that are physically the same size as a 5,000mAh battery (for example), but yet pack more energy into it.
This could result in phones that would not need to get bigger or thicker to accommodate a larger battery capacity. That being said, the Galaxy S24 series is still quite a long ways off, so do take this report with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully there is some truth to it because it is quite an interesting concept.
