Instagram will now let users add more links in their bio

We’re sure you’ve come across an Instagram profile that has a link in their bio to a website. For some users who have multiple social media platforms, they might use a service like that of Linktree to consolidate all their links in one place.

This is because Instagram used to only allow users to place one link in their bio. We say “used to” because according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, he has announced that Instagram will now be updated where users can place as many as five links in their bio at once.

According to Zuckerberg, he says that this is one of Instagram’s “most requested” features, and we suppose he’s right. This means that if you’re active on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook, you can add all the links to your social media platforms directly in your bio.

This will save your followers time from having to click the link to open the Linktree page, and then navigating to your website. That being said, there might still be a good reason to continue using platforms like Linktree. This is because users can customize their pages with their own branding and imaging, giving it a bit more personality and uniqueness.

If that isn’t really your goal, then this Instagram update should be good enough, unless you happen to have more than five links that you want to share. We would still much prefer if Instagram supported clickable links in captions and comments, but we suppose this will have to do for now.
