Got Some Play Points? Here’s how you can use ‘Em

If you’ve ever purchased or tried out apps and in-app purchases before on Google Play, then you might have noticed an occasional notification updating you of your accrued Play Points. Simply put, Play points are rewards given to users, which can be redeemed through different products and services – here’s how you can make the best of them!

Use them in Other Apps

Users can redeem Play Points through other apps, and if you’re in the US you can redeem points for up to $10 off your next DoorDash order, as well as $10 off your next grocery delivery through Instacart. Google adds that members in Japan will soon be able to redeem points for 24 hours of unlimited data through Povo2.0.

Obtain Google Merch!

Users can also trade their points for Google gear – US-based members can use their Play Points (starting today) for Google merchandise like shirts, water bottles, sunglasses, and even those fancy-looking Google Chrome Dino socks.

Grab in-game Perks and Coupons

Users can also put their points towards the games they play – be sure to check your Play Store app to see which games support Play Points, which gives you access to in-game items including tokens, characters, and other cool perks.

Google Play Credit

Last but not the least, users can redeem their points with Google Play Credit, which lets them buy in-app products as well as apps, books and subscriptions.

Users can redeem their Play Points by heading into their Play Store app, tapping on their profile at the top right of the Play Store homepage, going into “Play Points” and selecting “Use.”
