Unlike foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series which is large enough to house a huge display on the front, flip phones don’t have that luxury of space. Instead, they have created a smaller screen which typically acts more like an information center where you can view missed calls, notifications, check the time, and so on.
It almost feels like a waste of the screen, but for Spotify users out there who might be using an Oppo Find N2 Flip handset, you might be interested to learn that Oppo has recently pushed out a major software update for the device where Spotify’s Widget will now have a home on the cover screen.
This Spotify Widget was designed exclusively for the Oppo Find N2 Flip together with Oppo and Spotify. It will make full use of the cover screen and will be able to display things like the current song that’s playing. Users will also be able to directly control media playback through the cover screen so they don’t have to flip their phones open if they don’t want to.
In addition to the inclusion of the Spotify Widget, the update also introduces a new custom-built Speech-to-Text quick reply feature, so that whenever users receive a message, they can open it in the cover screen and use their voice to quickly compose a reply and send it back. The apps that will support it include WhatsApp, Messenger, Messages by Google, and LINE.
