Roku Subscribers can Now get Disney+ Basic on Supported Devices
The continued popularity of streaming services in the past years has led to a rise in user adoption, resulting in a lot of platforms having to diversify their pricing to suit different budgets. As such, popular streaming service platform Roku recently announced that Disney+’s new “Basic” subscription tier will now be available on Roku-supported devices.
Users who opt for Disney+ Basic will get access to Disney’s full content catalog, as well as certain key product features that also are available with Disney+ Premium, albeit with ads.
This includes movies and TV shows from Disney, up to seven user profiles per account, simultaneous streaming with up to four different devices, and support for content with 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, Full HD, HDR10, and Expanded Aspect Ratio with IMAX Enhanced.
The Disney+ Basic tier will come with ads at $7.99 a month, compared to the Premium tier at $10.99 that’s slightly more expensive, but lets users watch content completely with zero ads.
