A while back, we got word that Nintendo will be focusing some efforts into forming a new joint venture with mobile app developer DeNa. The company has finally announced “Nintendo Systems,” with the goal of “research and develop, as well as create value-added services to further reinforce Nintendo’s relationship with consumers.” According to statement from Nintendo’s Japanese website:

“Today, April 3, 2023, “Nintendo Systems Co., Ltd.”, a joint venture between Nintendo Co., Ltd. and DeNA Co., Ltd., newly joined the Nintendo Group. Nintendo Systems Co., Ltd. develops and operates systems and new services that deliver Nintendo entertainment to consumers. We aim to create unique entertainment innovations by fusing Nintendo and DeNA’s respective commitments to entertainment and technology.”

The website is now live, and gives a bit of info as to what we can expect from the new partnership. At the moment however, no games or software have been announced for future release.

This isn’t the first time that the two companies have worked together on software, as DeNa was also responsible for development on titles like  Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Mario Kart Tour, to name a few.
