While Xiaomi’s “Redmi” brand has always focused on giving users more affordable tech without compromising too much on specs, it seems that the new Redmi Watch 3 takes things a step further, giving users a better reason for upgrading this time around. The new wearable features some nice upgrades, especially when compared to its predecessor.
Up front is a 1.75-inch AMOLED display, which is surrounded by a glossy metal build which according to Xiaomi is built using NCVM technology. This is a nice change of design compared to the Redmi Watch 2, which was primarily made out of plastic. One similarity though is that the watch still retains a squared design, similar to other wearables like the Apple Watch device series. Available in black and ivory variants, the watch features 200 built-in watch faces for some added customizability.
Other features of the watch include built-in GPS tracking, 121 sports modes, blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate and sleep tracking, as well as a 5ATM waterproof rating. Xiaomi adds that the watch can last up to 12 days of usage on a single charge, and even includes a built-in speaker and noise-cancelling mic for Bluetooth calls when paired to your smartphone.
The watch was announced alongside the new Redmi Note 12 series devices, and costs EUR 199.
