Nothing has finally unveiled its latest wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear 2. The new earbuds serve as a follow-up to last year’s Ear 1 buds, and makes its appearance some months before this year’s upcoming Nothing Phone 2. The earbuds were revealed via a livestream event on Nothing’s official YouTube channel.
In terms of design, the Nothing Ear 2 basically retains the same exact style from its predecessor, although it comes in a white color this time around. A lot of the differences are what’s inside the earbuds, which Nothing says improves upon the first-generation Ear 1s. As far as hardware is concerned, the Ear 2 buds come with 11.6mm dynamic drivers, up to 40 dB noise cancellation, which works through personalized and environmental ANC.
As for usage, the Ear 2 comes with a 33 mAh battery capacity in each earbud, that can last up to 6.3 hours without ANC, and up to 4 hours with ANC. Users will be able to go longer with the charging case, which comes with a 485 mAh battery inside. The earbuds also come with fairly simple controls, which allows users to single press to play or pause and answer or hang up calls, double press to skip forward and reject calls, and triple press to skip back. Users can also press and hold the earbuds to switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode.
The Nothing Ear 2 also come with IP54/55 case water and dust resistance, as well as in-ear detection. The buds will cost £129 for buyers in the UK, or around $149 for folks in the US.
