Oppo’s Find X6 Pro is here, and Samsung should be worried

Brands like Oppo rose through the Android ranks by offering customers cheap and value for money phones, but over the years, the company has been steadily working to challenge that perception by creating phones with increasingly impressive specs and features. Now with the launch of the Oppo Find X6 Pro, the company has created their most powerful and impressive handset to date.

Starting with its specs, given that it is a flagship phone for 2023, unsurprisingly it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is accompanied by 12GB or 16GB of RAM (depending on your configuration), as well as 256GB or 512GB of storage. It also sports a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, possibly making it the brightest display we’ve ever seen in a smartphone.

If those specs weren’t impressive enough, the Hasselblad-tuned cameras on the Find X6 Pro is where Oppo shines and could offer up a serious challenge to Samsung. The Find X6 Pro comes equipped with a triple camera setup, where the main camera uses a 50MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, making it one of the few smartphones around use such as a large sensor.

It is accompanied by an ultrawide camera and a periscope telephoto camera, both of which use the 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, which was also used in the OnePlus 11, so while they aren’t 1-inch sensors, they are flagship level and should yield impressive images. The sensors offer about 4x more surface area compared to the ultrawide/zoom sensor found on Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, so it should perform much better when it comes to low-light images.

Last but not least, the Oppo Find X6 Pro will come with a 5,000mAh battery which uses Oppo’s Battery Health Engine, which the company claims will help the phone’s battery retain 80% of its original capacity after 4 years. It supports Oppo’s 100W SuperVOOC charging, and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging.

If the Oppo Find X6 Pro sounds like your dream phone, at the moment the handset appears to be exclusive to China, but hopefully global availability will be announced soon.
