Samsung fans, rejoice – the South Korean telecoms giant has finally unveiled its latest midrange phones, the Galaxy A54 and A34. While both devices share a lot of similarities, there are some differences between the two handsets in terms of hardware and performance. The phones were finally announced earlier today for European and UK markets.

While the A34 and A54 share a similar template of sorts, the Galaxy A54 is a bit smaller as it comes with a 6.4-inch display with a hole punch camera cut-out, versus the A34’s 6.6-inch screen with a waterdrop notch. Both displays come with AMOLED panels, built-in fingerprint sensors, FHD+ resolutions, and 120Hz refresh rates.

As for design, the phones feature a similar look to the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, although the A54 uses Gorilla Glass on both sides, while the A34 uses a plastic panel on the rear. Galaxy A54 5G comes in Lime, Graphite, Violet, and White, while the Galaxy A34 5G will be available in Lime, Graphite, Violet, and Silver.

As for camera hardware, the Galaxy A54 comes with a 12MP Ultra-Wide Camera with f/2.2 aperture, an f/1.8 50MP Main Camera , an f/2.4 5MP Macro Camera, and an f/2.2 32MP front camera. The A34 also packs four cameras, which include an 8MP Ultra-Wide Camera with f/2.2 aperture, an f/1.8 48MP Main Camera , an f/2.4 5MP Macro Camera, and an f/2.2 13MP front camera.

Both phones come with a Samsung Exynos 1380 chip, and will come in several memory configurations including 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage. Additional specs include support for micro SD cards with up to 1TB capacity, 5000 mAh batteries, Android 13 with One UI 5.1 software, up to four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates.
