Qualcomm’s been very busy lately. After several announcements made before, during, and after MWC 2023, it looks like the company is gearing up to release a new mobile chipset soon, at least according to a teaser spotted online.
An image from an online post by Qualcomm sets a date for a March 17 event, which points to the debut for its upcoming Series 7 chipset. The company’s last big launch was the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which was officially revealed in late 2022. At the moment, it’s unclear if the upcoming SoC will be called the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or 7 Gen 2.
It’s highly expected that the chipset would be based on TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process, and will come with a 1x Ultra Core with 2.92GHz frequency, 3x Performance Cores with 2.5GHz frequency, and 4x Energy-efficient Cores with 1.8GHz frequency. An Adreno 730 is also rumored to be onboard. Geekbench listings also show that the chip’s performance is near to that of the Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipsets.
Aside from all of these though, no other details are known, so we’ll have to be a bit more patient, at least until the new chip makes its debut,
