At the moment, Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series has one of the brightest displays in the market right now with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. But it seems that Apple could soon be dethroned by Oppo.
In a tweet by Ice Universe, they have published a list of smartphones with some of the brightest displays in the market at the moment. The handsets listed include the iPhone 14 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Vivo X90 Pro+, Honor Magic 5 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. What’s interesting is that at the top of the list is the Oppo Find X6 Pro, a handset that has yet to be announced.

Assuming the information is accurate, it seems that the handset could have a display with a peak brightness of over 2,400 nits, which is pretty bright as far as smartphones are concerned. For those wondering what the big deal is, having a bright display can be useful especially during the day.
A bright display means that even under direct sunlight, it will be bright enough to be completely legible, which some users might find to be very important. Of course, maxing out the display’s brightness will no doubt have a negative effect on the phone’s battery, but at least the option is there. Oppo has yet to officially announce the Find X6 Pro, so we’ll have to wait for that to happen to get the full details.
