How to add wireless charging to the OnePlus 11

Wireless charging is a feature that is more or less a standard on many smartphones today, but yet there are still companies that opt not to include it in their phones. The OnePlus 11 is a good example, where the company has justified their decision by saying that its wired charging is fast enough to get the job done.

While we can’t deny that the support for 100W charging will make the phone charge in a relatively short amount of time, we’re sure that there are some who might be able to appreciate having the option to go wireless if they want.

The good news is that if you don’t mind a bit of retrofitting, you can actually give the OnePlus 11 wireless charging capabilities.

What you will need

To give your OnePlus 11 wireless charging, you will need a couple of accessories to start:

• A wireless charging adapter
• A wireless charger

Wireless charging adapter

What a wireless charging adapter does is that it gives the phone the hardware it needs to receive the power from a wireless charger. This is more or less the same tech that you would find inside of a phone with wireless charging support, except that now it has been placed externally and comes as an accessory.

It plugs into your phone’s USB-C port, which when paired with a wireless charger, will juice up your OnePlus 11’s battery. The downside to using these accessories is that it basically takes up the USB-C port on your phone, so if you need to pair it with other accessories like wired headphones or a power bank, you can’t, so that’s something you’ll want to keep in mind.
