When it comes to foldables, Samsung is a brand that probably comes to mind and we get it. The South Korean tech giant has been relentless in their release of foldable phones and are basically dominating the market, but if you’re looking for an alternative to what Samsung has to offer, perhaps TECNO has something you might be interested in.
At MWC 2023, TECNO has officially unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the TECNO PHANTOM V Fold. The phone features a 6.42-inch display on the outside with a 21:9 aspect ratio featuring a micro-curved design, and on the inside, there is a foldable display that when unfolded becomes a massive 7.85-inch screen that is perfect for watching videos, playing games, reading ebooks, and more.
As for its hardware, under the hood, the PHANTOM V Fold is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+ chipset with support for 5G and dual SIM functionality. The chipset is also accompanied by 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W charging.
TECNO will also be utilizing AI technology to help with noise reduction and to produce more crisp details. The company has noted that the phone will be available in the coming quarter where it will be priced starting at INR 91,000, roughly $1,100, making it a more affordable alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
