Pokémon Classic sees reissue of the original Pokémon Cards
As someone who regularly got their Pokémon cards confiscated in primary school (elementary school for my American friends), I know the joy and pain that came from the old days of playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The elation of victories and the despair of the teachers finding you behind one of the play areas playing matches with the other boys in your class.
My TCG days are long behind me, but the series has endured none the less. The card game now far exceeds the reach of when it first came out, spanning new boosters and variations to keep the franchise fresh, new, and largely accessible to trainers around the world.
The Pokémon Classic is a rerelease of the original Pokémon cards from the first generation, but with a sleeker aesthetic. This was created specifically for fans of the first generation of cards who enjoy playing on the go. The Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic comes with a folding, portable two-player game board that has card placement areas for your deck, discar cards, prize cards, and active, benched, and inactive Pokémon.
This board has a compartment in the middle that can accommodate a maximum of three decks and comes with a toolkit with a ton of match-related accessories. It comes in a sleek black finish, where the color and contrast of the accessories and the cards really pop.
With three carefully designed decks, including these fully developed Kanto first partner Pokémon, relive the days of battling with your favorites, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, from the Basic Set. Together with the classic cards, these decks also include recently printed cards, allowing you to create novel tactics with cards like Ho-Oh and Lugia that have never previously been seen.
Unfortunately, all of these cards, with the exception of Basic Energy cards, are not allowed in competitive games. Yet, because the game is always evolving, these fixed decks are ideal for battling loved ones and friends in an ongoing Pokémon TCG battle.
The entire package contains:
- a folding gaming board that may be used to store every piece of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic.
- a toolbox for metal orbs, status markers, and stacked damage counters
- Three Pokémon Trading Card Game decks that include Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise as well as brand-new cards to complement the vintage cards
- Three deck boxes with energy symbols that go with the Pokémon TCG decks are provided.
