Xiaomi 13: Meet Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone

0

While during CES 2023, we did get a look at some phones, if you’re looking for a new flagship phone that will last you the next few years, then you’re in luck because at MWC 2023, Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its latest series of smartphones in the form of the Xiaomi 13.

The Xiaomi 13 represents the best that Xiaomi has to offer. It comes in several variants, including the Xiaomi 13 Lite and the Xiaomi 13 Pro, but if you want something that’s a happy middle, then maybe the Xiaomi 13 could be the handset for you.

In terms of specs, the Xiaomi 13 will feature a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate, meaning that the refresh rate will change depending on the situation at hand, so in instances where it doesn’t need the full 120Hz, it can drop lower and save you some battery in the process.

Under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset can be found. This is the latest and most powerful chipset Qualcomm has to offer at the moment, meaning that the Xiaomi 13 will be more than capable of running everything you throw at it and then some. It also boasts LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage, and will be available in 8GB+256GB or 12GB+256GB variants.

Here’s where things get a bit interesting. The Xiaomi 13 will see Xiaomi continue their partnership with Leica, which means that the cameras on the phone will benefit from this partnership. The Xiaomi 13 will come equipped with a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP main that uses Leica’s professional optical lenses. There will also be a 3.2x telephoto lens with a 75mm focal length that was inspired by Leica’s very own 75mm Noctilux-M lens, and last but not least, there will also be an ultrawide angle lens with a 120-degree field of view.

On the software side of things, Xiaomi has included some Leica features like Leica Authentic Look that helps ensure more accurate white balance. There is also the Leica Vibrant Look that boosts the brightness and saturation of photos. There will also be a bunch of Leica filters, Leica shutter sounds, and a brand new camera UI.

The Xiaomi 13 will also come with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W wired turbo charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Xiaomi has also included support for 5G and WiFi 7. If you’re keen on picking up the phone for yourself, it is priced starting at €1,000.
