This year we expect that Sony will be unveiling a new flagship handset, possibly in the form of the Xperia 5 V, and now thanks to a Geekbench benchmark test that was shared on Weibo, we have an idea of what kind of specs the handset is expected to be packing under the hood.
Based on the benchmarks, the Xperia 5 V will apparently come with as much as 16GB of RAM. We’re not sure if this will be available on all models or if there will be some cheaper configurations that will come with less RAM, but it looks like 16GB will be offered at the very least.
Also, the benchmarks have confirmed that the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which we suppose is to be expected for a 2023 flagship, but other than that, not much else is known about the phone including its display size, refresh rate, camera configurations, battery size, and so on.
As for when the phone will be revealed, once again there is no mention of that. But with MWC 2023 coming up around the corner, perhaps Sony could take this opportunity to announce the phone then, either that or they will announce it separately, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
