Google’s best Pixel Feature is now Available on all Android and iOS Devices, with a Small Catch

Google recently announced that it will be bringing a prize Pixel feature to users subscribed to its Google One service. The “Magic Eraser” function will soon be available for Google One users, and as such will be available to use on non-Pixel Android phones, and even iPhones.

The Magic Eraser feature was first introduced in 2021, which allows users to remove unwanted subjects from backgrounds, While not perfect, it was a handy solution for most social media posts, and pictures which required minor edits. As per Google’s official announcement:

“Google Photos helps you get the most out of your photos and videos by making them easy to find, organize, edit and share. And over the past few years, we’ve added AI-powered editing tools, like Magic Eraser, to the latest Pixel phones.

Now we’re bringing Magic Eraser and other enhanced editing features to more people. Starting today, Google One members — on both Android and iOS — and all Pixel users will be able to enjoy Magic Eraser, a new HDR video effect and exclusive collage styles. Plus, Google One members will get free shipping on print orders. Take a look at how you can use these tools to make the most of your memories.”

One could argue that this move might put a dent into Google’s Pixel sales, given that it was one of the big features that Google used to market and differentiate the Pixel smartphones from competing devices. With that said though, it will be interesting to see how Google proceeds from here, and whether or not we’ll end up with more Pixel features on other smartphone brands.
