The Honor Magic5 Lite is the reason why we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss mid-range phones

When we think of smartphones, usually the handsets that get all the attention are flagships from companies like Apple, Samsung, and so on. To be fair, these phones do feature the best of the best hardware and software and there are many reasons to like them, but that doesn’t mean that mid-range phones have nothing to offer.

In fact, if you’re not willing to drop $1,000 on a smartphone that will become out of date in less than a year, you might want to take a look at Honor’s latest mid-ranger, the Magic5 Lite. This is because not only does the phone pack decent specs at an affordable price, but the latest DxOMark Battery scores have found that the Magic5 Lite has the best battery amongst smartphones at the moment.

This means that if battery life is a key priority for you when it comes to phones, the Magic5 Lite offers an impressive battery life while being a fraction of the price of other flagship phones that have launched in 2022 and 2023.

For those who are learning about the handset for the first time, the Honor Magic5 Lite was announced last week and under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset can be found along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also boasts a 6.67-inch 2400×1080 display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It also boasts a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 64MP f/1.8 wide shooter, a 5MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro, with a 16 f/2.5 wide camera on the front. The Magic5 Lite also comes with a 5,100mAh Li-Po battery that supports 40W wired charging. The handset is currently available in the UK starting from £329.99, and will make its way to European markets soon where it will be priced at €369.
