Samsung recently announced that the latest version of its custom Android skin – One UI 5.1 – will be making its way to more Samsung handsets, in addition to its newest Galaxy S23 flagship phones. The company has published a list of other devices which will be getting the latest software update.
To be more specific, the new update will make its way to the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4, S21 series, and the older S20 series. According to Janghyun Yoon, EVP and Senior Executive, Software Office at Samsung:
“One UI 5.1 is the up-to-date example of Samsung’s commitment to providing Galaxy users with the latest innovations as soon as possible. Over the past several weeks, we have worked closely with our service providers and carrier partners to bring One UI 5.1 to current Galaxy smartphones and tablets around the world within a few short weeks of the Galaxy S23 series announcement.”
With that said, One UI 5.1 comes with a set of new features, including updates to the Samsung Camera app, visual customization options, widget functionality, and improvements to wireless integration with other Samsung products. The company says it will begin the rollout for One UI 5.1 for the aforementioned devices, with the Galaxy ZFlip 3 and ZFold 3 to follow in the coming weeks.
